Rates

Every figure on this page exists to protect one idea: you never have to explain yourself twice.

My work is cumulative, not transactional. Each engagement carries forward the full history of your context—professional, personal, logistical—so nothing resets.

The premium reflects continuity, discretion, and the scarcity discipline required to deliver them without compromise.

Read moreRead less about using the published rates and notes

Read the figures together with the notes for the arrangement you have in mind. Hourly engagements, overnight visits, and multi-day time are listed separately; travel and the other notes describe considerations beyond the length of the visit. The location and duration are therefore useful parts of an inquiry, alongside your preferred dates and times. A clear outline of the proposed visit gives those details a shared context without changing the published figures above.

The payment section sets out the deposit, balance, accepted methods, and cancellation terms. The travel section lists the regional fees and the airfare and accommodation notes, while the other notes cover Sacramento hosting, outcalls, extensions, and an additional guest. Refer to those sections directly when considering a particular arrangement. They are kept on this page so that practical information can be read in one place rather than inferred from an essay or a photograph elsewhere on the site.

The FAQ covers screening and the questions surrounding arrangements, and the inquiry form provides a place to choose a verification route and describe your plans. Dates entered there are preferences, and submitting an inquiry does not reserve an appointment. For longer-term arrangements, the annual-partnership section above describes the published framework; individual details are discussed through an introduction. The Journal explores the thinking behind continuity and attention, while this page remains the reference for current rates and the notes that accompany them.

Annual Partnerships

For a limited number of clients, I offer ongoing retainer arrangements that formalize what many already practice: continuity without interruption.

What this includes:

  • Unlimited access between engagements—you're never an interruption
  • The conversation never resets—I stay current on your world
  • Priority on your calendar, not mine—you book when it works for you
  • Anticipatory preparation—I've done my homework before you arrive
  • Flexible structure—designed around your life, not a fixed schedule
  • Optional S-corp billing for tax purposes

These partnerships are customized individually and limited by design.

If continuity matters to you, reach out. We'll discuss what makes sense.

Why these rates

The rate is not a mood. It is what it costs to keep a small number of conversations in my head and refuse the next one. After a decade between San Francisco and Sacramento, I still work that way: a small roster, memory that does not reset, and no notes.

Before I left public review boards I was ranked at the top of San Francisco and in the national twelve. That was the last time the market was allowed to say it out loud. The work did not get cheaper after I delisted.

I don't sell first meetings. I sell the third one—the one that moves at full depth because we no longer waste energy on translation. Continuity is why the rate is what it is. Scarcity is the workshop that keeps that craft possible.

I don't sell time.

I reserve attention, continuity, and discretion for the few who understand their value.

Discretion is embedded, not billed.

Before choosing a date, review the planned visits and the location you have in mind.
